If you are on a tight budget and need a basic TV, the Amazon 4-Series (LCD) could serve your needs, especially if you're not particularly concerned about picture quality. However, for a significant increase in picture quality, especially in darker settings, the LG A1 (OLED) would be a superior option with excellent contrast, color gamut, and viewing angles. The OLED technology is particularly well-suited for movie enthusiasts and those who want to enjoy rich and deep blacks. The LG A1 also supports more HDR formats which can enhance viewing experience but it comes with a higher price tag. If you often watch TV in bright rooms though, the Amazon 4-Series has a slightly better performance in well-lit environments compared to the LG A1. Keep in mind the Amazon 4-Series has more HDMI ports which could be useful if you have multiple devices to connect. Give Feedback

Tech Advisor

Jim Martin | May 2023
"The attraction here is that the 4-Series uses Amazon’s Fire TV interface. Picture quality is good but unexceptional. At the discounted prices, which can seemingly be had regularly, they are better value."
