If you're looking for an affordable TV and don't mind compromising on picture quality, the Amazon 4-Series is a wallet-friendly option, albeit with limitations in most content viewing, including a less satisfactory experience for movies, sports, and gaming. However, if superior picture quality is important to you, especially in darker rooms, and you're open to spending a bit more, the Vizio MQ6 '23 offers a significant improvement in overall picture quality, which enhances movies and supports additional HDR formats like HDR10+ and Dolby Vision for better high dynamic range performance. Both perform adequately in brighter rooms, but for gaming, the Vizio may provide a marginally better experience. Keep in mind, the Vizio MQ6 '23 also includes voice commands for accessibility, which the Amazon 4-Series lacks. Give Feedback

Tech Advisor

Jim Martin | May 2023
"The attraction here is that the 4-Series uses Amazon’s Fire TV interface. Picture quality is good but unexceptional. At the discounted prices, which can seemingly be had regularly, they are better value."

About Amazon

Amazon, the largest online retailer in North America, has forged partnerships with TCL and Hisense to produce white-label TVs incorporating their Fire OS software. These Amazon-branded TVs typically compete in the low-end and mid-range segments, offering compelling price points. Leveraging their strong reputation, Amazon has swiftly built brand trust in the TV market despite being relatively new to it. To enhance their popularity, these TVs integrate features from the Amazon ecosystem, including Alexa, providing users with a seamless and interconnected TV experience.

About Vizio

Vizio is an American company. While they initially gained recognition for offering budget-friendly TVs, they have successfully expanded their product lineup to include high-end options as well. They manufacture TVs primarily in Mexico, China, and Vietnam. Similar to many Korean TV brands, Vizio developed its own smart TV software called SmartCast. In the past, SmartCast was not the best smart TV software, but it has evolved so that it is now good for using your TV and connecting to streaming services.
