The Apple MacBook Pro 13 (2022) is priced in the upper midrange and offers a solid mix of features that includes high storage capacity, an Apple M2 processor with integrated graphics, and a sizable battery life suitable for long hours of typical usage. Its IPS display with high resolution delivers strong color accuracy and brightness, which is beneficial for tasks requiring color precision. The laptop is lightweight for portability and has a backlit keyboard, fingerprint reader, and supports USB-C charging. Its cooling system operates quietly, and it has a good build quality. However, with 8GB of RAM, it may not be the most suitable for intensive engineering or 3D/machine learning tasks. Its port selection includes USB-C and Thunderbolt ports but lacks support for external GPU options which limits gaming or high-end graphics capabilities. Give Feedback

General Use:
4.5
The Apple MacBook Pro 13 (2022) is excellent for general use due to its high-performance Apple M2 chip and 8 GB of RAM, which ensure smooth multitasking and efficient performance for everyday tasks, and its high-quality 13.3-inch IPS screen provides clear, vivid visuals with excellent color accuracy. Its light weight and small dimensions lend to its portability, while the long battery life of up to 20 hours and silent, fanless operation make it ideal for use on the go or in quiet environments.

Engineering & Design:
4.2
The Apple MacBook Pro 13 (2022) excels in engineering and design due to its powerful M2 processor and GPU, along with ample RAM and a high-quality IPS display that offers sharp resolution, high brightness, and wide color coverage. Moreover, its silent operation, long battery life, and form factor enhance portability, making it a solid choice for professionals needing balance between performance and mobility.
Gaming & AI:
3.6
The Apple MacBook Pro 13 (2022) is considered fair for 3D because, despite having a capable GPU for light to moderate 3D tasks, it's limited by its standard screen refresh rate of 60Hz, which may not be as smooth for faster-paced 3D applications. Although it has a high-quality IPS screen with good resolution, color accuracy, and brightness, it doesn't make up for the GPU and refresh rate constraints when it comes to more demanding 3D work.

NotebookCheck

Andreas Osthoff | June 2022
"The MacBook Pro 13 is still a very good subnotebook. The 2022 MacBook Pro 13 might look like recycling at first, because the device is completely identical to the old model expect for the new M2 SoC. We have to admit that we were surprised to see another iteration of the MBP 13 as well. The laptop is obviously familiar, but this does not change the fact that it is still a very good subnotebook. You get an excellent chassis with good stability, a very good display, good input devices and the new M2 chip is very powerful and efficient."
