The ASUS ROG Flow X16 is a 2-in-1 convertible laptop that strikes a balance between performance and versatility, offering a midrange price point. Its 16-inch IPS touchscreen display with a 16:10 aspect ratio and 165Hz refresh rate makes it suitable for both productivity and gaming. Running on an AMD Ryzen 9 processor with Nvidia RTX 3060 graphics, it delivers solid performance for 3D rendering, machine learning, and engineering tasks. It is equipped with 1TB of storage and 16GB of RAM, which should handle most applications comfortably. The Flow X16 has a high-resolution screen with good color accuracy and brightness, making it a pleasure for multimedia consumption and creative work. The 90Wh battery provides a moderate amount of usage time, though intensive tasks will drain it faster. Its weight of about 4.63 pounds and 0.76 inches thickness mean it's transportable but not the lightest option. Good connectivity with USB-C charging supports its versatility, while features like a backlit keyboard, fingerprint reader, and hardware ray tracing complement its user-friendly design. Released in August 2022, this laptop is ideal for users needing power and flexibility without the highest price tag, though you should be aware that its battery life is not the longest and it may become less portable than lighter and thinner alternatives. Christian Hintze | June 2023
"Above all else, the Asus ROG Flow X16 is one thing - versatile! It is a thin, mobile work device, it's a 2-in-1, tablet, a powerful workstation and even a gaming PC. But something even more surprising: It does all of these things really well without making any big blunders. It's anything but a lazy compromise. Because, despite its compact dimensions and 2-in-1 functionality, the hardware isn't throttled and boasts, at least in turbo mode, above-average performance."
