The LG Ultra 13 is a laptop with a lower midrange price offering a good balance for general use, characterized by a lightweight and portable design, a 13.3-inch IPS display, and is powered by an AMD Ryzen 7 processor. Its battery life supports typical usage for around 10 hours, which is suitable for working on the go. It includes a moderate amount of storage and a generous 16 GB of RAM. The laptop lacks a dedicated GPU but has integrated graphics capable for day-to-day tasks, though not optimal for intensive gaming or advanced 3D modeling. It is equipped with sufficient ports, a backlit keyboard, but no number pad. The build quality is rated good, but the speaker quality and screen colors are average, indicating that although suitable for work and general computing, it might not provide the best multimedia experience. Its compact size and low weight make it highly portable with a high-quality keyboard, adequate for long typing sessions. Give Feedback

Operating Noise:
4.4
PerfectRec’s Operating Noise Score is based on fan noise measurements. Laptops with a fanless design, such as Macbooks, receive the maximum score.
Build Quality:
4.2
PerfectRec’s Build Quality Score incorporates case materials, display and keyboard flex, hinge quality, chassis rigidity, and overall reliability. Our assessment of build quality includes many details that are difficult to quantify. Our laptop experts use their best judgment to produce the final score.
Keyboard Quality:
4.2
The Keyboard Quality score is based on the PerfectRec experts’ assessment of tactile feedback, typing comfort, keyboard reliability and typing noise.
General Use:
4.1
The LG Ultra 13 is a solid choice for general use due to its strong CPU and sufficient RAM which ensure smooth multitasking and performance, coupled with a high-quality IPS screen providing clear visuals. Its lightweight design and good battery life also contribute to its versatility, making it easy to carry around for everyday tasks.
Software Development:
4.1
PerfectRec’s Software Development Score takes into account the many different features of the laptop that make it more or less suitable for software development. In addition to a strong emphasis on overall performance, this score also places very high importance on screen quality. Heat management, storage, keyboard and speaker quality are also incorporated, with fan noise rounding out this score.
Content Creation:
4.1
PerfectRec’s Content Creation Score takes into account the many different features of the laptop that make it more or less suitable for photo editing, and video editing work. Engineering & Design:
3.7
The LG Ultra 13's AMD Ryzen 7 processor and integrated Vega 7 graphics provide sufficient power for moderate engineering and design tasks, but may struggle with more demanding 3D and simulation workloads. The screen's good color coverage and resolution will benefit design work, yet its modest contrast ratio and absence of a dedicated high-performance GPU limit its suitability for advanced engineering graphics or intensive design tasks.
Gaming & AI:
3.1
PerfectRec’s Gaming and AI Score strongly emphasizes graphics processing capability as well as AI performance, while also taking into account other factors that impact suitability for gaming and AI work. While performance (especially graphics performance) is the most important factor determining this score, we also give modest weight to screen quality, heat management, keyboard quality, and storage.

CNET

Joshua Goldman | April 2017
"The 13.3-inch LG Gram is a fine fit if you need to travel as light as possible for as long as possible without spending a fortune to do it. It might not be particularly sturdy or have an eye-catching design and its webcam is less than ideal, but with its sharp touch display, comfortable backlit keyboard, responsive touchpad and a fingerprint reader for extra security, the Gram makes a respectible everyday laptop for business or school work."
