The MSI GF63 Thin is at a lower midrange price and offers good general performance, gaming, and machine learning capabilities due to its Intel i5 processor and Nvidia RTX 3050 graphics. It has a decent amount of storage and RAM for everyday tasks. The 15.6-inch display with a high refresh rate is ideal for fast-paced games. At over 4 pounds with average battery life, portability is moderate. It's suitable for intensive gaming but if you value long battery life or a very lightweight laptop, other options might be more appropriate. Give Feedback

Operating Noise:
4.4
PerfectRec’s Operating Noise Score is based on fan noise measurements. Laptops with a fanless design, such as Macbooks, receive the maximum score.
Portability:
4.2
PerfectRec’s portability rating takes into account the volume and thickness of the laptop as well as its weight.
General Use:
4.1

The most important factors in this score include CPU performance, amount of RAM, screen quality, storage, and battery life. Keyboard quality, speaker quality, low fan noise, heat management, and to a lesser extent webcam quality are all moderately important factors for this score.
Content Creation:
4.1
PerfectRec’s Content Creation Score takes into account the many different features of the laptop that make it more or less suitable for photo editing, and video editing work. In addition to a strong emphasis on overall performance, this score also places very high importance on screen quality. Heat management, storage, keyboard and speaker quality are also incorporated, with fan noise rounding out this score.
Engineering & Design:
4.0
The MSI GF63 Thin has a capable Intel i5 processor and 16 GB of RAM, which are critical for engineering applications needing multitasking and computational power. It also sports a dedicated Nvidia RTX 3050 GPU and a high-quality IPS display, ensuring detailed visuals and smooth graphics rendering for design work.

NotebookCheck

Florian Glaser | January 2020
"If you leave aside the meagre port selection (no card reader, no DisplayPort, no Thunderbolt 3 or USB 3.1 Gen2), the fan control that could be improved (idle mode!) and the relatively dark and slow display, the MSI GF63 Thin 9SC does not have any major weaknesses. The 15-inch gamer is compact, has a low weight and offers a good price-to-performance ratio, which should please gamers that are looking for both a portable and an affordable gaming notebook. Input devices, battery life, case quality and performance are all appropriate for this purchase price."
