It has a large 17.3-inch Mini LED display with a 4K resolution, which offers excellent color accuracy and contrast, ideal for professionals who need precision in visual work. However, the laptop is heavy and has limited battery life, which affects its portability. It comes with ample storage and memory, and its build quality, heat management, and keyboard are rated very well. Gaming, 3D & AI:
5.0
PerfectRec’s Gaming and 3D Score strongly emphasizes graphics processing capability as well as general performance, while also taking into account other factors that impact suitability for gaming and 3D work. While performance (especially graphics performance) is the most important factor determining this score, we also give modest weight to screen quality, heat management, keyboard quality, and storage.
Engineering & Design:
5.0
The MSI Titan GT77 is equipped with a powerful Intel i9 processor, substantial RAM, and a top-tier Nvidia GPU, delivering exceptionally high performance needed for demanding engineering and design tasks. Its Mini LED display offers high resolution and color accuracy, but as a tradeoff, the laptop is heavy and has limited battery life, making it less portable for on-the-go work.
General Use Screen Quality:
5.0
The general use screen score is based on the screen technology, contrast ratio, resolution, brightness, color gamut and color accuracy. This score does not take into account specialized display features for specific use cases, such as high refresh rate for gaming.
Keyboard Quality:
5.0
The Keyboard Quality score is based on the PerfectRec experts’ assessment of tactile feedback, typing comfort, keyboard reliability and typing noise.
General Use:
4.6
PerfectRec’s General Use Score takes into account the many different features of the laptop that make it more or less suitable for general productivity, web browsing, streaming, video calls, and running a wide variety of apps and programs. The most important factors in this score include CPU performance, amount of RAM, screen quality, storage, and battery life. Keyboard quality, speaker quality, low fan noise, heat management, and to a lesser extent webcam quality are all moderately important factors for this score.
Build Quality:
4.6
PerfectRec’s Build Quality Score incorporates case materials, display and keyboard flex, hinge quality, chassis rigidity, and overall reliability. Our assessment of build quality includes many details that are difficult to quantify. Our laptop experts use their best judgment to produce the final score.
Operating Noise:
3.8
PerfectRec’s Operating Noise Score is based on fan noise measurements. Laptops with a fanless design, such as Macbooks, receive the maximum score.
Battery Life:
3.5
PerfectRec’s Battery Life rating is based on hours of battery life in typical usage scenarios.

Andreas Osthoff | February 2023
"The MSI Titan GT77 HX 13V is the utimate gaming laptop with RTX 4090 & Core i9-13950HX. The new MSI Titan GT77 will most likely only reach a very small group of users due to the high price, but it is still an impressive showcase of what is possible. The high-end gamer combines the best components you can currently get in almost every regard and it is a very good overall package, which does not have to hide behind full-fledged desktop systems."
