The Samsung S95B OLED offers excellent overall picture quality, with top marks in gaming and movies, making it a strong option for both enthusiasts and casual viewers. It's particularly impressive in dark rooms due to its perfect contrast and black uniformity. For bright room usage, it's rated as very good, although it may not be the absolute best choice for environments with a lot of ambient light. This TV also has very good sound quality and includes a One Connect Box for a clean installation with minimal visible cables. However, it's at a premium price point, which means you're paying more for the high-end features and performance. If budget is a concern, there might be more cost-effective options, but for those seeking a high-quality viewing experience for a variety of content, and able to afford it, the Samsung S95B OLED would be a satisfying choice. Movies & TV shows:
The Samsung S95B OLED excels in watching movies and cinematic TV due to its outstanding contrast and black uniformity, which create deep blacks and enhance the overall picture quality in dark scenes. Additionally, its excellent out-of-the-box colors and color volume produce vibrant and true-to-life images, while its wide viewing angles ensure that the picture remains consistent from different seating positions.
PerfectRec’s gaming score measures a TV's performance when it comes to playing video games. It is based on several factors that can significantly impact the quality of the gaming experience, including screen response time, input lag, and refresh rate. Screen response time is a critical factor that determines how quickly the TV can transition from one color to the next, while input lag measures the delay between the gaming console output and the TV display. Refresh rate refers to the number of times per second that the TV displays a new frame, which can impact the smoothness of the gaming experience. The gaming score also takes into account two other features: local dimming in gaming mode, which can enhance contrast and picture quality, and black frame insertion, which can reduce screen brightness and create a smoother gaming experience.
Cartoons & Animaton:
The Samsung S95B OLED's 'excellent' score for colors out of the box means cartoons and animation display with vibrant and accurate colors without the need for calibration. Additionally, its 'excellent' color volume ensures a wide range of colors can be vividly represented, making animated scenes pop.
Overall Picture:
The Samsung S95B excels in picture quality primarily because of its OLED technology, which delivers perfect black uniformity and a high contrast ratio, ensuring deep blacks and vibrant colors. Additionally, it boasts excellent color performance right out of the box, together with a wide color gamut and high color volume, enabling rich and accurate reproduction of a wide spectrum of colors in various brightness levels.
News, Talk & Reality TV:
PerfectRec’s news, talk, & other TV score prioritizes upscaling, brightness, contrast, out of the box color accuracy, and screen uniformity. This is because almost all news and talk shows are created in Standard Dynamic Range (SDR) with lower resolutions, such as 720P and 1080P. The purpose of this prioritization is to ensure that lower resolution content looks good on a 4K display and to help you identify which TV will perform best when watching live TV via Cable, Satellite, or Antenna.
The Samsung S95B excels at watching sports due to its superb viewing angles and reflections handling, ensuring a clear picture from different seating positions and in well-lit environments. Additionally, its excellent motion processing capabilities provide smooth action, vital for fast-paced sports events.
Bright Room:
The Samsung S95B OLED is very good for watching TV in a bright room because it has 'Good' SDR brightness, which means it can produce bright images suitable for well-lit environments, and it is rated the best for reflection handling, ensuring that glare from light sources is minimized.

Business Insider

Steven Cohen | March 2023
"Samsung's S95B is easily one of the best high-end 4K TVs on the market. S95B is able to achieve industry-leading color performance and a brighter screen than typical OLEDs. In fact, the display's OLED color coverage is nearly in a class of its own. The S95B is a beautiful TV, even when it's off. The display has a pleasing, minimalist design with nearly bezel-less borders and an impressively thin profile."
