If you're considering pure sound quality for music and critical listening, the AKG K712 Pro, with its larger open-back design, offers a very good soundstage that's better for an immersive home listening experience. These are more suitable for stationary use given their need for a dedicated amplifier, wired connection, and poor portability. However, they're not good for noisy environments, exercise, or travel due to poor noise isolation and the lack of active noise cancelling. In contrast, the Audio Technica ATH-TWX7 earbuds are more versatile with very good sound quality, excellent call quality, and features like active noise cancelling and sweatproof certification, making them well-suited for exercise and travel. They provide a low latency mode which is great for gaming and videos, and the earbuds are also optimized for use with both Android and Apple devices, offering a more portable and user-friendly experience with their wireless design and app control customization. If portability, versatility, and use in various scenarios including exercise and travel are priorities, the ATH-TWX7 would be the better choice. Give Feedback

"AKG has created a mini-masterpiece in my opinion. I enjoy this headphone a great deal and it will become my go-to reference headphone for the time being. She is slick, sexy, well-balanced, and crazy comfortable."
"There’s plenty to like about the ATH-TWX7. A robust set of features brings a lot of convenience to your day. But a few of those tools could still use some fine-tuning and the lack of automatic pausing in 2024 is a head scratcher. Still, the audio is mostly good, and transparency mode is better than most. Add in the solid call quality and the in-app voice test and the ATH-TWX7 are a worthy consideration, especially at this price. Too bad it falls short of being a more complete package some of the competition offers for a slightly larger investment."
