If price is a major factor for you and your tasks are not demanding, the Acer Aspire 1 with its basic processor and modest storage might suffice, especially for general everyday use like browsing and office applications. The ASUS Zenbook 14X, while more expensive, offers a significant jump in performance, making it better suited for demanding tasks like 3D rendering, engineering applications, and even some light gaming. Its superior display, with higher resolution and OLED technology, is ideal for creative work or enjoying media, but this also means it's less economical when it comes to battery life compared to the Acer. If portability is important, consider that the ASUS is lighter and has a smaller footprint than the Acer, which could make it more travel-friendly. Give Feedback

CNET

Joshua Goldman | May 2020
"There are no surprises and nothing's extraordinary here but this laptop's price. For those in need of an inexpensive Windows laptop for undemanding tasks, though, the Acer Aspire 1 offers just enough to get the basics done and a larger screen to do them on."

NotebookCheck

Sebastian Jentsch | April 2022
"With the Zenbook 14X, Asus has a 14-incher in its range that is - mostly - a joy to use. First, there is the colorful OLED panel with 3K resolution that displays the sRGB and DCI-P3 color spaces. The Zenbook is also at the forefront in terms of workmanship, input devices and connections with 2x Thunderbolt 4 ports and a generous keyboard layout. A pleasure to use, the Zenbook 14X is a solid, very well-built subnotebook that sits well on the table. A runtime of five hours, however, is below average for a high-end subnotebook nowadays. The OLED screensaver causes increased power consumption when in idle mode."
