To select between the Apple MacBook Pro 13 (2020) and the Lenovo Legion 5i Pro, consider their primary usage. The MacBook Pro is slim, offers longer battery life, and is well-suited for general use, video editing, and productivity tasks within the Apple ecosystem. In contrast, the Legion 5i Pro, while heavier and with shorter battery life, provides substantially better performance for gaming, 3D rendering, and demanding engineering software due to its high-end graphics card and faster processor. The Lenovo is ideal if performance is your priority and you need a machine that can handle intensive tasks, but the MacBook Pro is preferable for portability and everyday use. Give Feedback

The Apple MacBook Pro 13 has a better screen than the Lenovo Legion Pro 5i for software development, while the Lenovo Legion Pro 5i has a better screen for gaming and AI.
The Apple MacBook Pro 13 (2020) boasts a high-resolution Retina display with bright and accurate colors, making it excellent for general tasks and detail-oriented work in engineering and design due to its wide color gamut. However, its standard refresh rate limits its appeal for 3D applications where smoother motion provided by higher refresh rates is crucial. The Lenovo Legion Pro 5i also has a high-quality display with good color reproduction for general use and creative work, but similar to the MacBook, its refresh rate may not be high enough to satisfy the demands of gamers and professionals working with fast-moving 3D graphics.

How the Apple MacBook Pro 13 (2020) and the Lenovo Legion Pro 5i compare to other laptops
"The MacBook Pro 13 is still a very good subnotebook. The 2022 MacBook Pro 13 might look like recycling at first, because the device is completely identical to the old model expect for the new M2 SoC. We have to admit that we were surprised to see another iteration of the MBP 13 as well. The laptop is obviously familiar, but this does not change the fact that it is still a very good subnotebook. You get an excellent chassis with good stability, a very good display, good input devices and the new M2 chip is very powerful and efficient."
"The midpriced Lenovo Legion Pro 5i Gen 8 follows some of our favorite gaming machines, including last year's model and the higher-end Legion Pro 7i Gen 8 tested earlier this year. But pedigree doesn't count for much in the computer world, and gaming laptops require a certain level of power and graphics performance to justify their prices. The Pro 5i Gen 8 just doesn't do that, offering middling CPU and GPU performance rather than the sort of muscle that would make it a great value."
