If camera quality is a priority and you're open to investing more, the Samsung Galaxy S22 Ultra may be the better choice with its higher megapixel count and superior zoom capabilities, including a 10x optical zoom. For those who prefer a more user-friendly interface and ecosystem integration, the iPhone 13 Pro Max with iOS might appeal to you, but its camera, while excellent, is not as high-spec as Samsung's on paper. With battery life, the Samsung has the larger capacity, which could translate to longer usage between charges. The iPhone, however, is often less expensive, so if budget is a key concern, it offers a balance between performance and cost. Screen size is comparable, with Samsung's being slightly larger, but both have high-quality OLED displays for crisp images. The iPhone uses the proprietary Lightning connector, whereas the Samsung features the more universal USB-C. Give Feedback

Tom's Guide

Mark Spoonauer | March 2023
"The iPhone 13 Pro Max is that rare phone that gets a 5-star rating from us. You get blistering performance and a very responsive 120Hz display. Plus, the battery life is among the best we’ve seen from a 5G flagship. Some may simply prefer the iPhone 13 Pro because it’s smaller and lighter, as there are no other functional differences between the two handsets. But if you prefer a bigger screen, the iPhone 13 Pro Max is the closest thing to perfect you can get in a phone."

Android Authority

Eric Zeman | February 2023
"The Galaxy S22 Ultra is a bit of a “greatest hits” compilation of Samsung’s best ideas from former devices. Moreover, it packs much of the same productivity-enabling software as previous Note devices coupled with the power of the S Pen while keeping the total package reasonable in terms of cost. The phone has more features, more cameras, and more software to put to use than many competing phones. It’s a hardcore device that nearly has it all."
