For movies and general TV content, the Samsung Q60B would offer better performance, particularly in bright rooms due to higher scores in bright room viewing and movie/series watching. If you're planning to use the TV in a well-lit environment or prioritize movie watching, it is the preferable choice even though it's more expensive than the LG UP8000. However, if price is a major concern and you're looking for value, the LG UP8000 could be a sensible choice. While its performance in bright rooms and for movies is not as strong as the Samsung Q60B, it still offers decent quality for its lower price point. Keep in mind, though, if you watch a lot of news, sports, or play games, the Samsung Q60B excels in rendering these types of content. One important note is that neither TV has local dimming which can affect the quality of dark scenes in movies. If gaming is a priority, both TVs have good input lag performance, but the Samsung has a better response compared to the LG UP8000. Give Feedback

Stratos Kampourogiannis | July 2021
"What we liked on this one was the very sharp 4K images it could display, its good up-scaling capabilities, nice viewing angles and extremely low input lag. Lastly the new webOS 6.0 is great even if it needs some time to get your bearings while the redesigned Magic Remote feels fresh even if functionality remains the same."

CNET

David Katzmaier | June 2022
"Samsung's 2022 QLED workhorse shines in bright rooms and with HDR. The Samsung Q60B stands out from the slew of entry-level TVs with an ultra-thin frame, a skinny profile from the side and even narrow stand legs. The Q60B is a very good bright-room TV, and my subjective impression of its ample light output was proven by measurements."
