If good black levels and contrast are important for watching movies or viewing content in a dark room, the TCL S450R is the better choice since it has excellent black uniformity. However, it struggles with local dimming and HDR brightness, so HDR content won't pop as much. For well-lit rooms, its fair bright room score suggests that it will perform adequately, but not outstandingly. The Toshiba C350LU, on the other hand, has a good viewing angle, which might make it a better option for rooms where people are seated in different positions relative to the TV. The C350LU also supports multiple HDR formats including Dolby Vision, which could enhance the HDR viewing experience if you have content that takes advantage of it.
